About Little Feet Child Care
Our Story
It all started in the late 90's when Misty Slater was working for a commercial daycare center in Lake Oswego, Oregon. She was the head teacher in a toddler classroom and working on a college degree in Early Childhood Education when she had the idea of striking out on her own and starting a daycare.
In the beginning her daycare was located in Bull Mountain. She was granted a license by the State of Oregon to run a registered in-home family daycare. Her program was centered around providing educational preschool and preparing children for kindergarten.
After a few years she was inspired to change the name of her preschool to Little Feet Child Care and hired a graphic artist to design the website and logo. Little Feet Child Care was born in 2001 and it grew to certified in-home status with the State of Oregon in 2007.
Misty quickly hired a few talented teachers to help out in the classroom and she started developing a curriculum to improve early literacy, gross and fine motor skills, social awareness and diversity. Today her program continues to focus on what matters most to parents. Children enrolled at Little Feet are given an opportunity to learn in a safe environment, free of judgement and are encouraged to be an individual with unique interests.
In late 2021, Little Feet Child Care expanded to a second location. The new location is also certified by the State of Oregon and has an amazing staff of teachers already preparing our new group of children to read, write, grow and gain confidence.
