About Little Feet Child Care
Our Story
It all began in the late '90s when Misty Slater was working at a commercial daycare center in Lake Oswego, Oregon. As the head teacher in a toddler classroom and while pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education, she envisioned starting her own daycare.
Initially, her daycare operated out of Bull Mountain, where she was licensed by the State of Oregon to run a registered in-home family daycare. Her program focused on providing educational preschool services and preparing children for kindergarten.
A few years later, she was inspired to rename her preschool to Little Feet Child Care, enlisting a graphic artist to create a logo and website. Little Feet Child Care officially launched in 2001, and by 2007, it had grown to certified in-home status with the State of Oregon.
Misty soon hired a team of talented teachers and developed a curriculum aimed at enhancing early literacy, motor skills, social awareness, and an appreciation for diversity. Today, Little Feet Child Care continues to focus on what parents value most—providing children with a safe, non-judgmental environment where they are encouraged to explore their unique interests.
In late 2021, Little Feet Child Care expanded to a second location, also in Bull Mountain. Certified by the State of Oregon, this new site offers a convenient option for parents commuting between Sherwood, Tigard, Lake Oswego, and Beaverton.
