Quality of care
We strive to offer the high-quality child care to all of our families. Quality is multifaceted where several factors influence how we measure it. When evaluating quality in a preschool, daycare or child care you might consider asking the following questions:
These are examples of a few questions you should consider asking as you shop around for a preschool program for your child. We genuinely want our parents to shop around as much as possible, visiting as many preschools as they can so they know what's available. Little Feet Child Care might not be a perfect match or maybe we don't currently have an opening right now and need to add you to our waiting-list.
- How are the children's minds properly stimulated throughout the week?
- Are the children offered ample opportunities to work on gross and fine motor skills each day?
- Is the curriculum professionally prepared? Are the topics age-appropriate, accurate and relevant to modern times?
- Are the toys all age-appropriate and safe?
- Is the equipment used in the classrooms and play areas carefully monitored for safety recalls?
- Is the food nutritious?
- Does the quality of food meet your standards?
- Would you serve the food on the preschool's menu at home?
- Is the food cooked fresh? Or does it come out of a tin can?
- How much screen-time are the children given each week?
- What is the purpose of the screen-time (education? entertainment?)
- What are the qualifications of the teachers and staff?
- Do they have college education in Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience?
- Do they have all of the training hours required by the State of Oregon to work in preschool?
- Has everyone in staff had a detailed criminal background check?
- Do staff members who cook and handle the food have a current food handler's permit from the State of Oregon?
- Have staff members been properly trained for first-aid and CPR?
- How long do children tend to stay enrolled at the program? Is turnover high?
- Can the preschool program offer references and referrals from current and past clientele?
- How long has the preschool program been a valid, licensed business with the State of Oregon?
- Are they in good-standing with the State of Oregon's Early Childhood division?

Pricing & Budget
We know price plays a big role in the decision to select a daycare or preschool. Our price is competitive with other high-quality preschools and child care centers in the area. Tuition varies depending on the age of your child and whether or not they'll be enrolled part-time or full-time. Please contact us for more details.
We understand how important budget is to families, especially these days. But be very cautious if you are shopping for child care on price alone. The tuition we charge every month allows us to offer quality across our whole program and covers:
We understand how important budget is to families, especially these days. But be very cautious if you are shopping for child care on price alone. The tuition we charge every month allows us to offer quality across our whole program and covers:
- Paying our teachers a competitive, consistent wage
- Regular, professional training for our staff to offer high-quality care and early education
- Professionally prepared curriculum to ensure we're preparing your child for kindergarten
- State-of-the-art classroom equipment including a classroom laptop, preschool furniture that is comfortable and durable and cleaning supplies that are safe and effective
- Child safety equipment including locks on all cabinets and doors, electrical plug covers, safety potty seat and stable, safe steps to the bathroom sink etc.
- Playground equipment that is safe, durable and age-appropriate
- Staff augmentation w/ a Spanish teacher, Music teacher and other guests
- Quality food: Beware! Many preschools cut corners with nutrition
- Our food is cooked fresh every day. Fruit and vegetables are fresh from the grocery store each week (sometimes but rarely frozen depending on store availability)
- Nutrition matters. When children are fed healthy meals and timely snacks it enables them to focus on learning and playing. And it supports their little bodies as they grow and ensures they're able to rest during naptime. Food is one of the biggest expenses at a preschool so it's typically the first and easiest corner to cut.

License Except
Child care programs that are except from licensing have the fewest requirements by the State of Oregon's early learning division. There are two types of License Except programs: Recorded Programs and Regulated Subsidy Programs.
Recorded Programs
Recorded Programs operate four hours or less per day and include school-age programs that aren’t required to be licensed. The only regulation required by the State of Oregon at the time of this writing for Recorded Programs is criminal background checks for all staff.
Regulated Subsidy Programs
Regulated Subsidy Programs are similar to Recorded Programs in that they are not licensed by the State of Oregon. Their requirements are less stringent than a licensed program and are not eligible for a quality rating.
Licensed Programs
Licensed programs have the highest quality standards and the most stringent requirements by the State of Oregon. There are three types of licensed child care, daycare and preschool programs in Oregon:
